FAQs

It prescribes the proper preparation and decoration of a ritual kumbha/kalasha—filling it with honey and milk, depositing a fivefold set of valuables (ratnādi-pañcaka), and adorning it with garland, cloth, perfumes, and fragrant flowers as part of pūjā setup.

By detailing concrete pūjā-sāmagrī and kalasha-sthāpana procedure, it exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s practical, manual-like coverage of ritual technology (kalpa/ācāra) alongside its many other domains (dharma, polity, medicine, arts).

Correctly arranging and sanctifying the kumbha and offerings is treated as a purity-producing act that supports successful worship (pūjā-siddhi), inviting auspiciousness and accruing religious merit through disciplined ritual order.
