Chapter 305 — Narasiṃha and Related Mantras (नारसिंहादिमन्त्राः)

Related Themes: Agni Purana 305 (Sudarśana rites; yantra colors and homa sequencing)
It teaches a therapeutic/ritual use of controlled fire/heat applied to the nābhi (navel region)—a form of cauterization/heat-treatment combined with specific color-and-weapon visualization and sound (svara) usage—to remove disease and graha-type afflictions.
Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied knowledge: here it blends practical healing (heat therapy focused on a bodily locus) with graha-śānti and mantra/visual elements, showing how medicine, ritual technology, and subtle physiology coexist in a single Purāṇic compendium.
By framing illness and graha-affliction as removable through disciplined agni-kriyā plus mantra-visual order, the verse presents healing as purification—restoring bodily and subtle balance and reducing harmful influences attributed to past karma or disruptive forces.
