FAQs

This verse emphasizes that sacred and practical duties should be done with vigilance and without laziness, making discipline itself a core expression of dharma.

By linking a small bodily act (soothing/rubbing the abdomen after recitation) with proceeding to one’s duties, Parāśara frames ritual life as integrating mantra, body, and conduct into a single ordered practice.

Even when Vishnu is not named, the Purana’s dharma-instructions function as Vishnu-centered cosmic order—right action and attentiveness uphold the divine sovereignty that sustains the world.
