Śivakṣetra–Tīrtha–Māhātmya
The Salvific Function of Shiva’s Sacred Domains
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It distinguishes karma that must be lived through (prārabdha-like ‘bhoga’) from the deeper causal seed; liberation is linked to destroying the seed of bondage rather than trying to erase lived destiny through mere merit.
Linga-worship and devotion to Saguna Shiva are presented as transformative: not merely producing punya, but burning the causal ‘seed’ of bondage through Shiva’s grace, so residual experiences do not bind again.
Steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Shiva-dhyāna and disciplined living is implied as the means to destroy the karmic seed, while accepting residual life-experiences without attachment.
