(Avadhūteśvara-līlā) — Śiva Tests Indra’s Pride on the Way to Kailāsa
Lord Rudra (Shiva)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
It highlights Rudra’s prasāda (grace): when a devotee acts dharmically—here, preserving life—Śiva responds by granting honor and a transformative identity, showing that divine grace elevates the soul’s standing and purpose.
The verse reflects Saguna Śiva as Rudra who personally speaks, becomes pleased, and grants boons—an intimate, relational form of the Lord often approached through Linga worship, where devotion and right action invite His anugraha (blessing).
The practical takeaway is to seek Rudra’s grace through bhakti and dharma—daily japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and simple Linga-pūjā with humility—cultivating life-affirming conduct aligned with Śiva’s compassion.
