Cuando los tres jefes vānara y los tres más eminentes rākṣasas se trabaron en combate, estalló una gran batalla que hacía estremecer de asombro a quienes la contemplaban.
A momentous war took place between the three Rakshasas (Prajaghna, Yupaksha and Sonitaksha) and Vanara chiefs (Angada, Dwivida and Mainda) that caused horripilation.
Dharma in war includes facing worthy opponents with steadfastness; the verse frames combat as a test of resolve and responsibility rather than mere violence.
A matched confrontation forms: three Vānara leaders engage three prominent Rākṣasa leaders in a major clash.
Valor and steadfastness under pressure—leaders personally enter the fray.
