War Omens and the Encirclement of Lanka’s Gates
ब्रवीमित्वांहितंवाक्यंक्रियतामौर्ध्वदैहिकम् ।सुदृष्टाक्रियतांलङ्काजीवितंतेमयिस्थितम् ।।6.41.73।।
bravīmi tvāṁ hitaṁ vākyaṁ kriyatām aurdhva-daihikam | su-dṛṣṭā kriyatāṁ laṅkā jīvitaṁ te mayi sthitam ||6.41.73||
Te digo una palabra para tu bien: prepara los ritos de lo que sigue a la muerte. Que Laṅkā disponga las exequias finales; tu vida ahora está en mis manos.
Having addressed it in well- meaning words, Rama said 'I will do you obsequies as no one will be left in Lanka to do your last rites'.
Even in war, dharma includes truthful warning and clarity of consequence. Rama’s speech combines moral admonition with responsibility: adharma leads to ruin, and the righteous do not conceal the outcome.
Rama, sending a message through Angada, warns Ravana of imminent defeat and speaks of the inevitability of death if Ravana persists.
Satya (truthfulness) and unwavering determination—Rama states consequences plainly without deceit.
