माल्यवानुपदेशः
Malyavan’s Counsel, Portents in Laṅkā, and the Proposal of Alliance
वीचीकूचीतिवाश्य्नत्यश्शारिकावेश्मसुस्थिताः ।पतन्तिग्रथिताश्चापिनिर्जिताःकलहैषिणः ।।।।
vīcīkūcīti vāśyantyaḥ śārikā veśmasu sthitāḥ | patanti grathitāś cāpi nirjitāḥ kalahaiṣiṇaḥ ||
Las minas que moran en las casas lanzan gritos extraños; y aun las aves pendencieras, enredadas en la disputa, caen abatidas y vencidas: otro presagio funesto.
"Minas living in households grappling with bellicose birds in delight are falling down dead."
Quarrelsomeness leads to defeat; dharma favors restraint and harmony, and portents warn that aggression collapses upon itself.
Household-level disturbances and bird-behavior are described as signs of impending catastrophe.
Śānti (peacefulness): the implied corrective to a culture of conflict.
