"Look at the sheen of weapons, the leather shields, spreading forth different pleasing colours, the brightness of which resembles the burning of forest fire arisen and spread in summer. And here are chariots, horses and elephants decked with ornaments following Ravana, as well as the powerful Rakshasa army full of joy."
The verse warns that external splendor and martial display are not measures of righteousness; Dharma is judged by conduct and justice, not by dazzling power.
Sītā is being addressed in Laṅkā; the speaker points out the formidable, ornamented rākṣasa forces and their fiery brilliance.
Sītā’s steadfast truth (satya-niṣṭhā) is implicitly tested against intimidation by spectacle and fearsome military might.
