Soy el hermano menor de Rāvaṇa, y por él he sido ultrajado. A ti acudo en busca de refugio, tú que eres el amparo de todos los seres.
"I am Ravana's younger brother. Having been put to shame I came to seek protection from you who are the protector of all beings " (Vibheeshana said to Rama)."
The dharma of śaraṇāgati: admitting one’s situation truthfully and seeking rightful protection from a just protector; it also implies the king’s dharma to protect those who surrender.
Vibhīṣaṇa introduces himself to Rāma and formally seeks asylum after being humiliated by Rāvaṇa.
Vibhīṣaṇa’s integrity and courage in choosing dharma over familial allegiance to adharma.
