Ravana’s Chariot, Portents, and Rama–Matali Instructions
महत् गृध्रकुलंचास्यभ्रममाणंनभस्तले ।।।।येनयेनरथोयातितेनतेनप्रधावति
mahat gṛdhrakulaṃ cāsya bhramamāṇaṃ nabhastale | yena yena ratho yāti tena tena pradhāvati ||
Y una vasta bandada de buitres giraba en el cielo sobre él; adondequiera que iba su carro, allí corrían tras él.
Meteors and huge fire dropped there indicating Ravana's end. Seeing them, Rakshasas were sad.
Dharma teaches consequence: predatory birds symbolize the nearness of downfall when one persists in adharma despite warnings.
Further ominous signs gather around Rāvaṇa as he moves, marking him as the one nearing death.
Humility and repentance would be the needed virtues here; the scene underscores their absence in Rāvaṇa.
