Aditya Hridayam Upadeśa — Agastya’s Instruction to Rāma
आतपीमण्डलेमृत्युःपिङ्गलस्सर्वतापनः ।कविर्विश्वोमहातेजारक्तस्सर्वभवोद्भव: ।।6.107.14।।
ātapī maṇḍale mṛtyuḥ piṅgalaḥ sarvatāpanaḥ |
kavir viśvo mahātejā raktaḥ sarvabhavodbhavaḥ || 6.107.14 ||
Tú eres el ardiente de círculo de rayos; muerte para los enemigos; de tono dorado; el que todo lo abrasa; el vidente-poeta, el omnipresente, de gran esplendor; el amado, y la fuente de donde surge todo devenir.
"You are the possessor of heat, adorned with a circle of rays. You are killer of all enemies, tawny destroyer of all, omniscient, lover of all devotees and source of all evolutes.
It presents righteous power as both protective and punitive: dharma can be gentle to devotees yet ‘death’ to destructive forces opposing truth.
Agastya intensifies the hymn’s tone, portraying Sūrya as universal source and irresistible force supporting Rāma’s righteous battle.
Tejas with restraint: the capacity to wield power in service of justice rather than ego.
