प्रश्नोत्तरम् / Svayamprabha Explains the Golden Forest and Questions the Vanaras
वनं विधाय बलवान्सर्वकामेश्वरस्तदा।।4.51.13।।उवास सुखितः कालं कञ्चिदस्मिन्महावने।
vanaṃ vidhāya balavān sarvakāmeśvaras tadā | uvāsa sukhitaḥ kālaṃ kañcid asmin mahāvane ||
Entonces aquel poderoso, señor del cumplimiento de los deseos, formó este bosque y habitó aquí feliz durante algún tiempo en esta gran arboleda.
Then the mighty Maya who received the power of (executing) desires created this mansion and lived here happily for some time in this dense forest.
Possessing wish-fulfilling power tests dharma: true righteousness requires restraint and right use of capability, not mere enjoyment.
Svayaṃprabhā narrates Maya’s period of residence after creating the wondrous forest.
The implied virtue is self-control—power without restraint becomes ethically precarious.
