Entonces Lakṣmaṇa, el de largos brazos, atento a la recta conducta, se retiró y permaneció aparte en un lugar apartado, cargando con el peso de la ira de Rāma.
Aware of the anger of Rama (who likes it not), the long-armed Lakshmana moved away from the spot (abstained from entering private apartments) as per tradition, receded to a lonely place and stood.
Dharma as maryādā: even while enforcing accountability, Lakṣmaṇa respects boundaries of place and conduct, withdrawing per custom.
After signaling displeasure, Lakṣmaṇa refrains from violating private space and stands aside, preparing for a proper confrontation.
Balanced righteousness: loyalty to Rāma and insistence on truth, tempered by propriety and self-control.
