Lakshmana’s Wrath and the Summoning of Sugriva

'Sugriva has not stuck to the conduct of the virtuous, of sharing the fruits of action equally. He does not realize that he obtained the prosperous kingship of vanaras as aresult of your (friendly) action. He does not have the intelligence of conducting himself in your favour (of searching Sita). Therefore he will not enjoy the kingship for long.
Dharma is gratitude and faithful reciprocity: one must acknowledge the moral bond between help received and duties owed, and act in satya by fulfilling promises; otherwise prosperity (lakṣmī) becomes unstable.
Lakṣmaṇa criticizes Sugrīva’s delay and perceived ingratitude after gaining the throne with Rāma’s assistance, warning that failure to act righteously endangers his kingship.
Moral accountability: Lakṣmaṇa stresses that rulers and allies must honor obligations and recognize the consequences of actions (karma-phala).
