tam uvāca virādhas tu rāmaṃ satyaparākramam | hanta vakṣyāmi te rājan nibodha mama rāghava || 3.3.5 ||
Entonces Virādha habló a Rāma, cuyo valor se funda en la verdad: «Bien, oh rey; comprende, oh Rāghava: te diré quién soy».
Puffed up with his own great strength, Viradha lifted them and placed them on his shoulders as though they were two children.
The verse highlights satya as a defining measure of true power: even an adversary recognizes Rāma’s truth-grounded heroism, reinforcing the Ramāyaṇa’s ethic that righteous strength rests on truth.
After being questioned, Virādha agrees to reveal his identity to Rāma.
Rāma’s satya-based parākrama (valor): his authority is portrayed as inseparable from truth.
