Sandhi Resolution Notes: pāpasyārddham = pāpasya + arddham; sarvapāpātpramucyate = sarvapāpāt + pramucyate; devamīśānam etc. not in this verse.
It presents Naimiṣāraṇya as exceptionally purifying: even the sincere intention and prayer to reach it destroys half of one’s sins, while actual entry grants release from all sins.
It distinguishes two stages—aspiration (prayerful longing) and arrival (entering the sacred place)—and assigns increasing spiritual efficacy to each, with the culmination occurring upon entry.
The verse implies that inner orientation matters (sincere longing already transforms), yet it also encourages follow-through: completing the pilgrimage is portrayed as spiritually decisive.
