The Description of the Glory of Dvādaśī
Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada; addressing the King within the narrative)
Vrata: Ekādaśī-vrata
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It declares Ekādaśī as unsurpassed for pāpa-nāśa (destruction of sins), emphasizing its exceptional purifying power within Dharma and Vishnu-bhakti practice.
By praising Ekādaśī’s potency even when imperfectly observed, the verse highlights the Lord-centered principle that devotion and vrata connected to Vishnu carry transformative grace beyond mere ritual precision.
It implies practical Kalpa (ritual discipline) and vrata-vidhi: the observance of Ekādaśī as a regulated vow, stressing that even partial adherence to the prescribed vrata yields strong dharmic results.
