The Description of the Glory of Dvādaśī
Nārada (teaching a king, addressed as rājendra)
Vrata: Ekādaśī
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares Ekādaśī as a purifying spiritual power—like fire—that incinerates accumulated pāpa, emphasizing inner purification through vrata.
By praising Ekādaśī as sin-destroying, it supports Vaiṣṇava bhakti practice: observing Ekādaśī as a devotional discipline that aligns the devotee with Viṣṇu and strengthens sāttvika living.
Ritual discipline (vrata/upavāsa) is highlighted—practical dharma in action; the verse frames sin-removal in a concise karmic logic used in Purāṇic ritual instruction rather than a technical Vedāṅga like Vyākaraṇa.
