Adhyaya 26 — Madālasa Names Alarka and Reorients Him Toward Kshatriya Duty

Curiosity becomes the doorway to instruction: the king’s question invites Madālasa to articulate a deeper criterion for naming and for life-goals beyond martial display.
Didactic narrative (upākhyāna) serving Dharma teaching; not a direct Vaṃśa listing here, though situated in a royal family context.
Madālasa’s ‘slight smile’ suggests compassionate irony: she sees the impermanence of worldly labels and is poised to redirect meaning from externals to inner destiny.
