सच्छिन्नधन्वा विरथो हताश्वो हतसारथि: । गदापाणिरवसप्लुत्य तूर्ण चिक्षेप तां गदाम्,इस प्रकार धनुष, रथ, घोड़े और सारथि आदिके नष्ट हो जानेपर कृपाचार्य हाथमें गदा लिये रथसे कूद पड़े और तुरंत ही उसे अर्जुनपर दे मारा
sacchinna-dhanvā viratho hatāśvo hata-sārathiḥ | gadā-pāṇir avasaplutya tūrṇaṃ cikṣepa tāṃ gadām |
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Con el arco hecho añicos, el carro perdido, los caballos muertos y el auriga abatido, Kṛpācārya, empuñando una maza, saltó del carro y, sin demora, arrojó aquella maza contra Arjuna.
