Chapter 55
दिशो<नुभ्रमत: सर्वाः सव्यदक्षिणमस्यतः । सतत दृश्यते युद्धे सायकासनमण्डलम्,अर्जुन सब दिशाओंमें बार-बार घूमते हुए दाँयें-बाँयें बाण चला रहे थे; इसलिये युद्धमें अलातचक्रकी भाँति उनका मण्डलाकार धनुष सदा दृष्टिगोचर होता रहता था
diśo 'nubhramataḥ sarvāḥ savyadakṣiṇam asyataḥ | satataṃ dṛśyate yuddhe sāyakāsanamaṇḍalam |
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Mientras Arjuna giraba en todas direcciones y soltaba flechas alternando a la izquierda y a la derecha, el barrido circular de su arco y sus saetas se veía sin cesar en la batalla—como un tizón encendido que da vueltas—señal de un dominio inquebrantable y de una fuerza disciplinada en medio del caos de la guerra.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined mastery in righteous combat: even amid confusion, a warrior’s trained control, steadiness, and purposeful action embody kṣatriya-dharma—power governed by skill and restraint rather than rage.
Arjuna is maneuvering rapidly in all directions on the battlefield, releasing arrows to both left and right in swift succession, so that the motion of his bow-and-arrow arc appears as a continuous circular ring, like a spinning firebrand.
