अध्याय ५०: उत्तरेण सह अर्जुनस्य रथप्रयाणे ध्वजचिह्नैः कौरवसेनानिर्देशः
Arjuna directs Uttara by identifying Kaurava commanders through banners
दहत्यग्निरवाक्यस्तु तूष्णी भाति दिवाकर: । तूष्णीं धारयते लोकान् वसुधा सचराचरान्,विद्वान् पुरुष बहुत-सी लड़ाइयाँ जीतकर, असंख्य धनराशि पाकर तथा शत्रुओंकी सेनाको परास्त करके भी इस तरह व्यर्थ बकवाद नहीं करते। आग बिना कुछ कहे-सुने ही सबको जलाकर भस्म कर देती है, सूर्यदेव मौन रहकर ही प्रकाशित होते हैं, पृथ्वी चुप रहकर ही सम्पूर्ण चराचर लोकोंको धारण करती है (इनमेंसे कोई अपने पराक्रमकी प्रशंसा नहीं करता)
dahaty agnir avākyas tu tūṣṇīṁ bhāti divākaraḥ | tūṣṇīṁ dhārayate lokān vasudhā sa-carācarān ||
Dijo Kṛpa: «El fuego quema sin hablar; el Sol resplandece en silencio; y la Tierra, sin palabras, sostiene los mundos con todos los seres móviles e inmóviles. Del mismo modo, el hombre verdaderamente sabio—aunque haya ganado muchas batallas, alcanzado inmensas riquezas y aplastado al ejército enemigo—no se entrega a la vana autoglorificación. El poder se prueba con la acción, no con la jactancia.»
