Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
अतो5हमपि वक्ष्यामि हेतुमत्र निबोधत । हन्तेमां राजवसतिं राजपुत्रा ब्रवीम्पहम्,इसलिये मैं भी जो युक्तियुक्त बातें बताऊँगा, उन्हें यहाँ ध्यान देकर सुनो। राजपुत्रो! मैं यह बता रहा हूँ कि राजाके घरमें रहकर कैसा बर्ताव करना चाहिये? उसके अनुसार राजकुलमें रहते हुए भी तुमलोग वहाँके सब दोषोंसे पार हो जाओगे। कुरुनन्दन! विवेकी पुरुषके लिये भी राजमहलमें निवास करना अत्यन्त कठिन है
ato 'ham api vakṣyāmi hetum atra nibodhata | hanta imāṁ rājavasatiṁ rājaputrā bravīmi aham |
Dhaumya dijo: «Por eso también yo expondré la razón—escuchad con atención aquí. Oh príncipes, os diré cómo se vive en la morada de un rey: cómo debe conducirse uno al permanecer en la casa real. Obrando así, aun habitando entre la familia regia, podréis sobrepasar las muchas faltas que allí se engendran. Pues incluso para un hombre prudente, residir en un palacio es sumamente difícil».
