उत्तरो बृहन्नडां सारथ्याय नियुङ्क्ते — Uttara Appoints Bṛhannadā as Charioteer

राजपुत्र हितप्रेप्सु: क्षिप्रं निर्याहि च स्वयम्‌ । त्वां हि मत्स्यो महीपाल: शून्यपालमिहाकरोत्‌,*राजपुत्र! आप इस राज्यके हितैषी हैं, अतः स्वयं ही युद्धके लिये तैयार होकर निकलिये। मत्स्यनरेशने अपनी अनुपस्थितिमें आपको ही यहाँका रक्षक नियुक्त किया है

rājaputra hitaprepsuḥ kṣipraṁ niryāhi ca svayam | tvāṁ hi matsyo mahīpālaḥ śūnyapālam ihākarot ||

Dijo Vaiśaṃpāyana: «Oh príncipe, puesto que buscas el bien del reino, sal de inmediato—en persona—y prepárate para la batalla. Pues el rey Matsya, señor de la tierra, te ha puesto aquí como guardián en su ausencia».
