पतिव्रता महाभागा सतत ब्रह्म॒वादिनी । द्रौपदी च कथं ब्रह्मन्नजज्ञाता द:खितावसत्‌

Transliteration

pativratā mahābhāgā satataṁ brahmavādinī | draupadī ca kathaṁ brahmann ajñātā duḥkhitāvasat ||

Translation

Dijo Janamejaya: «Oh brahmán, ¿cómo pudo Draupadī —fiel a sus esposos, muy afortunada y siempre dedicada a la palabra sagrada— permanecer oculta y morar allí, afligida por el dolor? Y ¿cómo, por temor a Duryodhana, mis antepasados los Pāṇḍava atravesaron en la ciudad de Virāṭa su tiempo de vida en incógnito, soportando penalidades?»
