अगस्त्य एव कृत्स्नं तु वातापिं बुभुजे ततः । भुक्तवत्यसुरो55ह्लानमकरोत् तस्य चेल्वल:,अगस्त्यजी ही वातापिका सारा मांस खा गये; जब वे भोजन कर चुके, तब असुर इल्वलने वातापिका नाम लेकर पुकारा
agastya eva kṛtsnaṃ tu vātāpiṃ bubhuje tataḥ | bhuktavān asuro ’hlānam akarot tasya celvalaḥ ||
Dijo Lomaśa: Agastya, él solo, consumió por completo a Vātāpi. Cuando el sabio terminó de comer, el asura Ilvala, queriendo burlarse y dañarlo, llamó a Vātāpi por su nombre—esperando que volviera a estallar y salir. Pero el episodio muestra cómo el engaño malicioso contra el justo se vuelve contra el engañador, mientras el poder espiritual, nacido de la disciplina, protege al virtuoso.
