अगस्त्यस्य वित्तयाचनं तथा इल्वलोपभिक्षणनिर्णयः

स चाह्दयति यं वाचा गतं वैवस्वतक्षयम् | स पुनर्देहमास्थाय जीवन् सम प्रत्यदृश्यत,इल्वलमें यह शक्ति थी कि वह जिस किसी भी यमलोकमें गये हुए प्राणीको उसका नाम लेकर बुलाता वह पुन: शरीर धारण करके जीवित दिखायी देने लगता था
sa cāhvayati yaṁ vācā gataṁ vaivasvatakṣayam | sa punar deham āsthāya jīvan sampratyadṛśyata |
Tenía el poder de convocar, con solo pronunciar un nombre, a cualquier ser que hubiera ido a la morada de Vaivasvata (Yama). Esa persona volvía a tomar un cuerpo y era vista de nuevo como viva. En el relato, esta facultad extraordinaria pone de relieve un inquietante abuso del poder: revertir la muerte por mandato, no por dharma ni compasión, sino como exhibición de dominio, perturbando así el orden moral custodiado por Yama.
