The Brahmanas’ Petition and the Proposal of Pilgrimage
सो5हमभ्यागतः क्षिप्रं दिदृक्षुस्त्वां सहानुजम् । वचनात् पुरुहृतस्य पार्थस्य च महात्मन:,“उन इन्द्रके आदेशसे मैं भाइयोंसहित तुम्हें देखनेके लिये शीघ्रतापूर्वक यहाँ आया हूँ। इसके लिये इन्द्रने तो मुझसे कहा ही था, महात्मा अर्जुनने भी अनुरोध किया था
so’ham abhyāgataḥ kṣipraṁ didṛkṣus tvāṁ sahānujam | vacanāt puruhṛtasya pārthasya ca mahātmanaḥ ||
Así pues, he venido aquí con presteza, deseoso de verte junto a tus hermanos menores, por mandato de Puruhūta (Indra) y también a ruego del magnánimo Pārtha (Arjuna).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined responsiveness to rightful authority: the speaker comes promptly out of respect for Indra’s command and Arjuna’s earnest request, showing that ethical action includes timely obedience and honoring noble intentions.
Vaiśampāyana reports a messenger-like arrival: someone has come quickly to meet the addressed person along with his brothers, explicitly stating that the journey was undertaken due to Indra’s instruction and Arjuna’s request.
