Educational Q&A

The verse underscores that a place becomes spiritually authoritative through the presence of great sages and through ancient yajñas; such sanctified sites support dharmic renewal, remembrance of tradition, and ethical orientation.

Vaiśampāyana identifies Mahendra mountain as the abode of the great Bhārgava (Paraśurāma) and notes that Brahmā once performed a sacrifice there, establishing the site’s antiquity and sacred status.
