The verse teaches that honoring sacred places and performing purifying rites with faith can generate spiritual merit leading to an elevated posthumous state—here described as attaining Viṣṇu’s abode—thus linking ethical reverence and disciplined practice with spiritual reward.
The speaker points out a specific tīrtha associated with King Janaka: a well revered even by the gods. The statement functions as tīrtha-māhātmya (praise of a pilgrimage site), promising Viṣṇu-loka to one who bathes there.
