Pulastya’s Instruction

कृतकृत्यो भवेद्‌ राजन्नश्वमेधं च विन्दति । भरतश्रेष्ठ! वह कुरुक्षेत्रका विख्यात द्वार है। उसकी परिक्रमा करके तीर्थयात्री मनुष्य एकाग्रचित्त हो पुष्करतीर्थके तुल्य उस तीर्थमें स्नान करके देवताओं और पितरोंकी पूजा करे। राजन! इससे तीर्थयात्री कृतकृत्य होता और अश्वमेधयज्ञका फल प्राप्त करता है। उत्तम श्रेणीके महात्मा जमदग्निनन्दन परशुरामने उस तीर्थका निर्माण किया है ।। २४-२५ न ! ततो रामह्ददान्‌ गच्छेत्‌ तीर्थसेवी समाहित:,तदनन्तर तीर्थयात्री एकाग्रचित्त हो परशुराम-कुण्डोंपर जाय

ghulastya uvāca | kṛtakṛtyo bhaved rājann aśvamedhaṃ ca vindati | bharataśreṣṭha! tat kurukṣetrakaṃ vikhyātaṃ dvāraṃ; tasya parikramya tīrthayātrī manuṣya ekāgracitto puṣkaratīrthasya tulyasmin tīrthe snātvā devatāḥ pitṝṃś ca pūjayet | rājan! anena tīrthayātrī kṛtakṛtyo bhavati aśvamedhayajñaphalaṃ ca prāpnoti | uttamaśreṇī mahātmā jamadagninandanaḥ paraśurāmaḥ tasya tīrthasya nirmātā | tato rāmahṛdān gacchet tīrthasevī samāhitaḥ |

Dijo Ghūlastya: «Oh rey, al cumplir las observancias ligadas a este tīrtha, el peregrino queda colmado en su propósito y alcanza el mérito de un Aśvamedha. Oh el mejor de los Bhāratas, en Kurukṣetra hay una “puerta” renombrada. Tras circunvalarla, el peregrino—firme y de mente unipuntual—debe bañarse en ese tīrtha, tenido por igual a Puṣkara, y luego venerar a los dioses y a los antepasados. Así, oh rey, se convierte en “quien ha hecho lo que debía hacerse” y obtiene el fruto del Aśvamedha. Aquel lugar santo fue establecido por el gran Paraśurāma, hijo de Jamadagni. Después, el devoto peregrino, sereno en su mente, debe dirigirse a los Rāma-hradas, los lagos de Rāma (Paraśurāma)».
