Pulastya’s Instruction
साहसख््रकं च तत्रैव द्वे तीर्थे लोकविश्रुते । उभयोर्हि नर: स्नात्वा गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्
sāhasrakhaṇḍaṃ ca tatraiva dve tīrthe lokaviśrute | ubhayor hi naraḥ snātvā gosahasraphalaṃ labhet ||
“Allí también hay dos vados sagrados, célebres en todo el mundo: uno llamado Sāhasrakhaṇḍa y otro más. Quien se bañe en ambos obtiene un mérito equivalente al de donar mil vacas.”
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse emphasizes the dharmic idea that sincere pilgrimage and ritual bathing at renowned tīrthas can yield great spiritual merit, here expressed through the familiar benchmark of go-dāna (the gift of a thousand cows).
