Educational Q&A

The passage highlights dharma expressed as reciprocal honor: when one receives proper respect, one should respond with service and hospitality—especially within family relations such as toward a father-in-law—thereby sustaining social and royal propriety.

Nala arrives at Vidarbha; the citizens rejoice loudly on seeing him. He accepts the ceremonial reception and then himself honors and serves his father-in-law with due respect, reflecting the etiquette expected of a righteous king.
