Transmission of Akṣa-hṛdaya; Kali’s Exit and the Bibhītaka Refuge
अनुज्ञातं तु मां राज्ञा विजने कश्चिदब्रवीत् । ऋतुपर्णस्य पुरुषो बाहुको नाम नामत:,'परंतु ऋतुपर्णके यहाँ बाहुक नामधारी एक पुरुष है, उसने जब मैं राजासे विदा लेकर लौटने लगा, तब मुझसे एकान्तमें आकर तुम्हारी बातोंका उत्तर दिया
anujñātaṃ tu māṃ rājñā vijane kaścid abravīt | ṛtuparṇasya puruṣo bāhuko nāma nāmataḥ ||
Dijo Bṛhadaśva: «Después de que el rey me concediera licencia, alguien me habló en privado: “En el servicio de Ṛtuparṇa hay un hombre conocido por el nombre de Bāhuka”.»
बृहदश्च उवाच
The verse highlights discretion and responsible speech: sensitive matters are conveyed privately, suggesting an ethical norm of confidentiality and careful communication in royal and personal affairs.
As Bṛhadaśva departs with the king’s permission, an unnamed person approaches him in seclusion and informs him about a man named Bāhuka who serves Ṛtuparṇa, setting up further developments involving identity and service at Ṛtuparṇa’s court.
