Transmission of Akṣa-hṛdaya; Kali’s Exit and the Bibhītaka Refuge
The verse highlights emotional truthfulness and prudent conduct: deep grief is acknowledged (tears), yet Damayantī chooses a private setting to speak with her mother, suggesting discretion and respect for social decorum while seeking counsel.
After hearing Parṇādā’s words, Damayantī becomes tearful. She then goes aside in private and addresses her mother. The narrator Bṛhadaśva simultaneously keeps the frame-story connection by addressing Yudhiṣṭhira.
