ऋतुपर्णस्य विदर्भयात्रा-निश्चयः तथा बाहुकस्य हयपरिक्षा (Ṛtuparṇa’s resolve to go to Vidarbha and Bāhuka’s examination of horses)

The verse highlights composed, dharma-aligned action: after resting and letting the night pass, the virtuous woman proceeds by speaking to her mother—suggesting deliberation, respect for family counsel, and steady resolve rather than impulsive action.
After spending the night at her father’s house, Damayantī rests and, when morning comes, begins a conversation with her mother. The narrator (addressing Yudhiṣṭhira as 'O king') signals a transition to the next development in her story.
