दमयन्त्याः कार्यनिश्चयः — Damayantī’s Crisis Plan and Vārṣṇeya’s Departure
तानेव शरणं देवाञ्जग्मतुर्मनसा तदा । इसी प्रकार दमयन्तीने भी हाथ जोड़कर विनीत वचनोंद्वारा महाराज नलका अभिनन्दन किया। वे दोनों एक-दूसरेको पाकर बड़े प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने सामने अग्नि आदि देवताओंको देखकर मन-ही-मन उनकी ही शरण ली
tān eva śaraṇaṃ devān jagmatur manasā tadā |
Dijo Bṛhadaśva: Entonces, en su fuero interno, buscaron refugio en aquellos mismos dioses. Del mismo modo, Damayantī, con las manos juntas y palabras humildes, saludó al rey Nala. Reunidos, ambos se colmaron de alegría; y al ver ante sí a deidades como Agni, en su interior se acogieron a lo divino.
बृहदश्व उवाच
Even at moments of intense emotion—such as reunion after suffering—one should remain grounded in dharma through humility and reverence. Taking mental refuge in the gods signifies inner alignment with truth and ethical restraint, not merely outward ritual.
After finding each other, Damayantī respectfully greets Nala with folded hands and gentle words. Both feel great joy, and upon seeing deities like Agni present before them, they inwardly seek the gods’ protection and blessing.
