शेषं कुर्याद् गिरेवज्रो निपतन् मूर्थ्नि संजय । नतु कुर्यु: शरा: शेषं क्षिप्तास्तात किरीटिना,संजय! पर्वतके शिखरपर गिरनेवाला वज्र भले ही कुछ बाकी छोड़ दे; किंतु तात! किरीटधारी अर्जुनके चलाये हुए बाण कुछ भी शेष नहीं छोड़ेंगे
śeṣaṃ kuryād girevajro nipatan mūrdhni saṃjaya | na tu kuryuḥ śarāḥ śeṣaṃ kṣiptās tāta kirīṭinā ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Oh Saṃjaya, aun un rayo que se estrelle contra la cima de una montaña podría dejar algo en pie; pero las flechas disparadas por Arjuna, el de la diadema, querido mío, no dejan nada en absoluto.»
