Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Sañjaya on Arjuna’s Indraloka report and the political consequences

The verse frames ethical action as aligning three levels of good: the divine mandate (Indra’s wish), the speaker’s rightful request, and the addressee’s own true welfare (ātman). It suggests that what is genuinely “pleasing” should harmonize duty, relationship, and inner good rather than mere impulse.
Arjuna identifies himself as a messenger sent by Indra on the woman’s behalf. He urges her to listen to Indra’s message and then act in a way that satisfies Indra, supports Arjuna’s purpose, and benefits her own self.
