प्रीत्या च ते5हं दास्यामि यदस्त्रमनिवारितम् । त्वं हि शक्तो मदीयं तदस्त्रं धारयितुं क्षणात्,मैं तुम्हारे प्रेमवश तुम्हें अपना पाशुपतास्त्र दूँगा, जिसकी गतिको कोई रोक नहीं सकता। तुम क्षणभरमें मेरे उस अस्त्रको धारण करनेमें समर्थ हो जाओगे
prītyā ca te 'haṁ dāsyāmi yad astram anivāritam | tvaṁ hi śakto madīyaṁ tad astraṁ dhārayituṁ kṣaṇāt ||
Movido por mi afecto hacia ti, te concederé esa arma irresistible. Pues tú eres capaz—en verdad, en un instante—de portar y blandir esa arma mía. Este don no es sólo poder, sino un depósito de confianza: sólo quien ha probado su disciplina y su dignidad puede recibir aquello que, una vez desatado, ya no puede ser contenido.
