वनपर्वकी सम्पूर्ण शलोक-संख्या १२२७६॥- #++ २० ()) #अअज अप वनपव्व-श्रवण-महिमा इदमारण्यकं श्रुत्वा महापापै: प्रमुच्यते । अधनो धनमाप्रोति पुत्रपौत्रसमन्वित:,इस वनपर्वको सुनकर मनुष्य बड़े-बड़े पापोंसे मुक्त हो जाता है, निर्धन धन पाता है और पुत्र-पौत्रोंसे सम्पन्न होता है
idam āraṇyakaṃ śrutvā mahāpāpaiḥ pramucyate | adhano dhanam āpnoti putrapautrasamanvitaḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: El número total de ślokas del Vana Parva es 12.276. Quien escucha este Āraṇyaka (el Vana Parva) queda liberado incluso de grandes pecados. El pobre alcanza riqueza, y es bendecido con hijos y nietos. Así proclama el texto el mérito purificador y auspicioso de escuchar el Vana Parva.
