पानीयमन्तिके पश्य वृक्षांश्चाप्युदकाश्रितान् । एते हि भ्रातर: श्रान्तास्तव तात पिपासिता:,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--तदनन्तर राजा युधिष्ठिरने नकुलसे कहा--“माद्रीनन्दन! किसी वृक्षपर चढ़कर सब दिशाओंमें दृष्टिपात करो। कहीं आस-पास पानी हो, तो देखो अथवा जलके किनारे होनेवाले वृक्षोंपर भी दृष्टि डालो। तात! तुम्हारे ये भाई थके-माँदे और प्यासे हैं!
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
pānīyam antike paśya vṛkṣāṁś cāpy udakāśritān |
ete hi bhrātaraḥ śrāntās tava tāta pipāsitāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Busca agua cerca, y mira también los árboles que crecen donde hay agua. Pues estos hermanos tuyos, hijo querido, están cansados y resecos de sed».
