Educational Q&A

Even in crisis, a leader must act with care for companions and with disciplined obedience to proper instruction. The benediction “bhadraṁ te” frames the command ethically—action should be purposeful, restrained, and oriented toward the welfare of the group.

After the other brothers have gone to find water and do not return, Yudhishthira sends Bhima to bring them back and fetch water. At the lake, the Yaksha issues a directive—bring the others and bring water—after which Bhima sets off toward the indicated place.
