तत्र भार्यासहाय: स वृतो वृद्धैस्तपोधनै: । आश्वासितोडपि चित्रार्थ: पूर्वराज्ञां कथाश्रयैः,तपस्याके धनी वृद्ध ब्राह्मणोंद्वारा घिरे हुए पत्नीसहित राजा ट्ुमत्सेनको प्राचीन राजाओंकी विचित्र अर्थोंसे भरी हुई कथाएँ सुनाकर पूरा आश्वासन दिया गया, तो भी वे दोनों वृद्ध बारंबार सान्त्वना मिलते रहनेपर भी अपने पुत्रको देखनेकी इच्छासे उसके बचपनकी बातें सोचते हुए बहुत दुःखी हो गये

Allí, el rey Dyumatsena, acompañado de su esposa, estaba rodeado por ancianos ascetas ricos en austeridad. Aunque una y otra vez fue consolado—alentado por relatos de reyes antiguos, colmados de episodios sorprendentes y llenos de sentido—la pareja de ancianos seguía sumida en una honda tristeza: su mente volvía sin cesar a los recuerdos de la infancia de su hijo y al anhelo de verlo.
