Defects of Anger and the Praise of Forbearance
अस्मिन्नपि महारण्ये विजने दस्युसेविते । राष्ट्रादपेत्य वसतो धर्मस्ते नावसीदति,आप राज्यसे निकलकर लुटेरोंद्वारा सेवित इस निर्जन महावनमें निवास कर रहे हैं, तो भी आपका धर्मकार्य कभी शिथिल नहीं हुआ है
asminn api mahāraṇye vijane dasyusevite | rāṣṭrād apetya vasato dharmas te nāvasīdati ||
Aun en este vasto bosque—solitario y frecuentado por bandidos—aunque vivas aquí tras ser apartado de tu reino, tu práctica del dharma no se ha aflojado en absoluto.
युधिछिर उवाच
Dharma is not dependent on comfort, power, or place; even when deprived of kingdom and living amid danger, one should remain steady in righteous conduct.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses his interlocutor with admiration, noting that despite exile from the kingdom and residence in a desolate forest frequented by bandits, the person’s dharma-practice has not diminished.
