Educational Q&A

The verse links longevity and protection to alignment with dharma and devotion: Hanumān’s life is secured as long as Rāma’s righteous fame endures on earth, implying that service to virtue and the divine leaves an enduring, protective moral legacy.

Mārkaṇḍeya recounts a Ramāyaṇa-related episode within the Mahābhārata: Sītā grants Hanumān a boon that his life will remain stable for as long as Rāma’s glory persists in the world, and she adds the promise of continual divine enjoyments bestowed by her grace.
