वरुण उवाच रसा वै मत्प्रसूता हि भूतदेहेषु राघव । अहं वै त्वां प्रत्रवीमि मैथिली प्रतिगृह्यताम्,वरुणदेवने कहा--श्रीराम! समस्त प्राणियोंके शरीरमें जो जलतत्त्व है, वह मुझसे ही उत्पन्न हुआ है। अतः मैं तुमसे कहता हूँ, मिथिलेशकुमारी निष्पाप है, इसे ग्रहण करो
varuṇa uvāca | rasā vai matprasūtā hi bhūtadeheṣu rāghava | ahaṃ vai tvāṃ prabravīmi maithilī pratigṛhyatām ||
Varuṇa dijo: «Oh Rāghava, los ‘jugos’ del cuerpo —el elemento acuoso presente en los cuerpos de todos los seres— nacen en verdad de mí. Por ello te lo declaro: Maithilī es inocente; recíbela de nuevo.»
