Karṇa–Sūrya Saṃvāda: Satya, Dāna, and the Amoghā Śakti (कर्ण–सूर्यसंवादः)
प्राकारस्थाक्ष ये केचिन्निशाचरगणास्तथा । प्रदुद्रुव॒ुस्ते शतश: कपिभि: समभिद्रुता:,जो कोई निशाचर चहारदीवारीकी रक्षाके लिये सैकड़ोंकी संख्यामें वहाँ खड़े थे, वे सब वानरोंद्वारा खदेड़े जानेपर भाग खड़े हुए
prākārasthākṣa ye kecin niśācaragaṇās tathā | pradudruvus te śataśaḥ kapibhiḥ samabhidrutāḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya dijo: «Aquellas bandas de rākṣasas noctámbulos que estaban apostadas como guardia sobre las murallas—por centenares—, al ser asaltadas y rechazadas por los monos, huyeron en desorden.»
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Strength and position (such as guarding a fortress) are unstable without inner resolve and righteous grounding; when confronted by a determined collective, those relying on intimidation alone often collapse into fear and retreat.
Rākṣasa guards posted on the fortress ramparts are attacked and chased by the Vānara forces; overwhelmed, they flee in large numbers.
