Kuṇḍala–Kavaca Discourse
सम्पातिर्नाम तस्याहं ज्येष्ठो भ्राता खगाधिप: । अन्योन्यस्पर्धयारूढावावामादित्यसत्पदम्,“वह पक्षी हमें खा जानेकी युक्ति सोचने लगा। फिर हमारे पास आकर बोला--“अजी! कौन मेरे भाई जटायुकी बात कर रहा था। मैं उसका बड़ा भाई पक्षिराज सम्पाति हूँ। हम दोनों एक-दूसरेसे होड़ लगाकर आकाशमें सूर्यमण्डलतक पहुँचनेके लिये उड़े थे
Sampātir nāma tasyāhaṁ jyeṣṭho bhrātā khagādhipaḥ | anyonya-spardhayārūḍhāv āvām āditya-satpadam ||
«Me llamo Sampāti, el hermano mayor de aquel rey de las aves. En otro tiempo, movidos por la rivalidad entre nosotros, los dos nos elevamos, esforzándonos por alcanzar la radiante morada del Sol».
